One thing that will help tv seem faster is to turn on the "browse" mode when
changing channels. This will keep the channel the same until you hit the
select button. I am afraid that live tv is always going to take a back seat
to the other features in the system since most people here including myself
rarely watch it. I find my entire family trys to fast forward thru the
commercials in live tv. Most times they pause it for 20-30 minutes just so
they can FF thru the commercials when they sit back down to watch it.

Personally I wish they would bring back the old way of handling live tv with
a ring buffer. The new way is much slower for pretty much everything. Make
it a selectable option.
