I'm trying to remaster knoppix for use with mythfrontend. I'm using
knoppix 4.0.2. Let me answer the obvious question, "why don't I use
knoppmyth?". Well mainly because I want to try and do some custom
settings, like enabling the svideo port on a laptop, which requires
editing the X configuration, looks like XF86Config-4.in on debian(?). If
someone knows an easier way, please let me know.
So I've followed the wiki
(http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Knoppix_Remastering_Howto) and it has
pretty much worked as stated. The only problem I had was when I did
chroot I got a bunch of /dev/null errors. It says to look at the common
problems section, but doesn't give any solution. I only mention in case
it's causing a bigger problem I'm not aware of. Everything else still
seems to work.
I've removed openoffice, which was reportedly using 300meg of space, so
I believe I should have plenty of space.
Now I'm trying to add mythtv. apt-get is not finding the packages, or if
it is, it says it's missing or obsoleted. Can anyone tell me what
sources I need to add to sources.list to be able to install mythtv and
hopefully install any missing dependencies? I'm still running .18 on my
backend so I assume I need to install that version.
I did find deb files for 18.1-2, but of course I can't install them
because of missing dependencies. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
James
