Was this problem ever solved? I just setup an xbox frontend and I'm having
exactly the same issue here. After starting livetv on the frontend, i can
clearly see the ringbuffer file is created, and the frontend log says

After starting the rinbuffer switches to a 2 seconds later filename
(2559_20060303190702.mpg)
and then the frontend returns to the menu. The files are there and are
playable by the frontend in videos via mplayer. of course its only 2 and 20
seconds of video, but its not like the backend isn't capturing.
Any ideas or workarounds?
Thanks,
Joe
