That's the part I wasn't sure about.  I had heard both ways, but heard 
more people saying they don't switch...

Interesting.  I'll have to watch for changes to formats once I start 
recording HDTV.  I'd love to have definite proof of format changes and 
see what's the determining factor--station, network, content, 
progressive/interlaced (i.e. never switching between the two), etc.
