I guess so. Perhaps your channels are marked as "commercial free"?
The Channel Editor screen in mythweb has checkboxes for these. There
is also a channel editor (I forget if it is in mythtv-setup or
frontend setup) that allows you to configure commercial-free-ness of a
channel.
