Try changing the channel (just kidding):-)
Kind of the hard way around to watch a DVD, but I understand you are
just testing.
You might try going into the baseband inputs of the card.
In any case you will have to set up the capture card with a real (for
cable etc.) or imaginary (for a DVD player or STB) channel setup.
Myth expects this setup information and you can't skip that step just
because you are only testing with a DVD player.
To work the way you're doing it you need to have Myth think it is
using a STB that outputs on channel 3, and I believe you even need to
have a channel-changing script (use /bin/true if nothing else, it
should always "work").
I'll bet you don't have your channel(s) and input mapping set up
correctly, go through the capture card setup and fill out everything.
Then try changing the channel :-)
