[mythtv-users] Setting up MythTV on Debian

It doesn't work any better running as root. I can run the command 'cat
/dev/video0 >capture.mpg' and the card captures video just fine. I can view
it with Totem or gxine with no problems. I just can't get mythtv-setup to
setup the card.

run as root and find out! but yes, it could be, or perhaps a firmware
issue. have you verified the card is working?
