[mythtv-users] is mythtv smart enough to do this (overlap/back-to-back) with recordings?

I think thats a bit harsh! I like Brad's idea. This would help in the
cases when both shows still exist. In that case you gain, then when a
show is autoexpired the notion of a 'successor' (or 'predecessor')
show gets deleted from the affected recordings (simple SQL though is a
bit more load on the database server). Implementing this would give
the same functionality as at the moment except that in these cases
(which i get quite often and the aussies i hear get them all the time)
you get the bonus of being able to 'carry on' (rewind) into the next
(previous) recording if it is also there and not autoexpired. I view
it as quite a clever simple way to partially solve the problem.
