That's exactly what I'm using (with 2 x DVICO DVB-T tuners), except I
have 256MB RAM and a 250GB SATA disk. The low RAM hasn't been a problem
(I originally put in 512MB, but it wasn't being used so I stole it
back), but I often need to watch myself or I fill up the hard drive.

The advantage of older CPUs is they often run quite cool; my system,
which is a combined front & back end, doesn't need beefy fans and is
practically silent.
