No, i do 2x bob deint.  So you are getting your problems on 720p not
on 1080i?  I did once have troubles that way, try turning on the
slightly larger audio buffering (somewhere in the setup maze) and see
how your 720p recordings play.  Before that  had some stuttering
audio, not video.

(I won't say I am total stutter free, there can be very minor
items on fast moving pans in 1080i but nothing too bad.)
