I have a Linksys with "Firmware Version : v4.70.8, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 +
Thibor14" and that still doesn't fix the problem that the DDNS support
doesn't update the DDNS service until a change occurs. So if your
cable modem doesn't change your IP address very often, or if they
accidentally behave well even once, you loose your DDNS record.
I suggest installing ddclient on your MythTV box, or on your Linksys
Linux if you can.
I REALLY hope that a future firmware update allows you to set a
maximum DDNS update wait interval. I wonder if I could set a cron to
force an update on a specific interval... Hmm. I've been annoyed by
this for years and it wasn't until I started writing this that I
thought of that. I'll look into it.
