OK, so I'm wrong :-)

I would have thought that anything in "contrib" was not part of the  
MythTV project per se.

Given that it seems to be, I wonder if "contrib" is the proper place  
for it, but OTOH I can't think of any other place for such a thing.  
It's certainly where I look for such things.

In truth *all* of the code, docs, etc. is really *all* "contrib"uted  
by the devs I guess.
