The world-cup proved to be a very bad time to get any coding done.
Nevertheless i finally managed to hack something together, that at least
works for me.
I f you are interested in a space efficient solution to store your archived
movies, you might want to have a look at
http://users.startplus.de/rawdlite/mythtv/mythcover_v002.tbz.
Mythcover is designed to be an "afterburner" to mytharchive generating an
origami cd-case.
In order for it to be called by mytharchive, mythburn.py (still) needs to be
patched.
Details can be found here
http://users.startplus.de/rawdlite/mythtv/mythcover.html
Mythcover can also be called independently of Mytharchive, this is especialy
usefull if you want more control over your coverart. I understand that
eventualy we will be able to define in the edit recording screen a frame to
be used as the main menu picture. This will then also allow you to define
which frame to use as coverart for your archived recording.
Until then i will try to iron out the remaining bugs and try to suppport
anybody who feels adventurous enough to try this out. Any feedback is
welcome.

I also started to work on a webinterface to provide me with the features i
am missing in mythweb.
I was able to set up ruby on rails to give me an overview over _all_ my
movies, whether it is DVDs i own, Videos in mythvideo or mythtv recordings.
This already beats my old excel sheet. From this view i can:
- choose to recordings and videos to put into the archiveitems table, which
allows to archive this films using the mytharchive UI
- create a jobfile for mythburn.py
- start mythburn.py to run in the background and read the progresslog (well
i am still working on this one)
- update the metadata of my movie collection using the IMDB.
- doing bulkupdates/retrievals of coverart and/or metadata

I see this effort more as an prototype to find out what is needed in
mythtweb than to actually build a proper mythtv application. It was also
rather interesting to see how easy and fast it was to use Rails to achieve
this. If anybody is interested in this aproach, i will of course share my
code.
