For XM at least, when you login there is a cookie set with three
values, those values then are in the URL for the stream:

http://player.xmradio.com/hotstream/metafile.jsp?op=xm_radio&ch=6&speed=low&s=1141072567215&e=1141072582215&h=e43d9d470f667bc9a267b7be1b04b444

Obviously you'd be able to change the channel, manually, but you would
need to download a channel list from the site since not all channels
are online. Also, the song name is not transmitted in the stream,
rather it's in a flash file somehow.

I'll have to see if I can get this to work in Linux, I've only had it
working in Windows and OSX.
