I don't watch Live TV, listen to music or view pictures but that is my
choice - I wouldn't do those with any PVR system unless it was actually part
of the viewing hardware (e.g. Sky+).

Reliability is good - the backend machine has been up for weeks with no
problems. The software is running without need for maintenance.

As for the front-end - I use MVP boxes for now and they don't have an
install of software as such. They have a bugette or two but we use them for
60-70% of our viewing (currently I only record Freeview - once I can record
from cable it'll be more like 90%).

The scheduled recording stuff is great. There are one or two data integrity
issues with the Radio Times but nothing that gets in the way of recording
reliably.

It is a very powerful, very flexible system which suits my rather extensive
needs (when compared to the type of user who buys a PVR appliance to sit
under the TV) and I love it. I've put a lot of time into it (I didn't use
Knoppmyth on purpose because I wanted to learn about MythTV rather than just
get it working) and have been rewarded well.
