Just wanted to let everyone know that the problems was caused by
problems with yum and doing "yum update".

I managed to get mythtv working by manually running yum update on each
package that was previously installed (I'm guessing that not all
packages were updated previously.)

I guess that will have to do until I can figure out why I can't get
smart to work.
