[mythtv-users] MythMusic, MAD decoder and mp3's with extended characters.

When I first set up my mythtv box (Gentoo) all my MP3's with extended 
characters should up as square boxes and everything played fine. 
Recently I did an "emerge -uD world" and the extended characters started 
to display, unfortunately when now when it gets to one of those songs in 
the playlist it comes up with:
DecoderMAD: Failed to open input. Error 5. in a message box.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Last night I upgraded my kernel from 2.6.13 -> 2.6.15 and MythTV to .19 
and I still have this problem.

There also still seems to be a problem in Mythmusic where it randomly 
kills the mythfrontend when starting a new song.
The last messages on the front end window are about opening the alsa 
device and then  Killed.
It then drops to my X system.
This is with an Nforce3 motherboard and the intel8x0 chipset.
