[mythtv-users] IR without PVR card

The IR remote setup guides I've read need a PVR card to be installed in the
PC. However I have a PC which can't physically take a PVR card and, anyway,
I just want to use it as a frontend for playback so it doesn't need one.

What would I need to setup a machine (Dell GX150) to use IR to operate
MythTV in this case, if it is possible?
