Nick, Thanks for the input.  Your comment got me thinking there might
be some issue with the Nvidia driver.  I removed the nvidia rpm's and
downloaded and installed the Nvidia driver directly from the Nvidia
website.  After installing Nvidia's *.run file I was able to update
the xorg.conf file correctly and I can now playback recordings in
mythfrontend.  I suspect I had the nvidia rpm's from atrpms.net
installed wrong.  I will reinstall and see if the rpm's work.
