Remember that Myth uses ~/.mythtv/lircrc (not ".lircrc").

For Myth, you have to send "keystrokes", not names.  So, I recommend 
using MythWeb's settings or MythControl to set a key for the 
TV_WATCH_LIVE jumppoint (like F4 or something), then:

begin
  prog = mythtv
  button = LiveTV
  config = F4
end
