[mythtv-users] PVR-500 Won't Change Channels When Scheduled

Problem:
When I set a show to record, it starts (I hear the hard drive
grinding), but it does not change to the correct channel, but does
start recording at the right time. It appears to be changing the
channel on one tuner and recording with the other.

Details:
I've installed mythtv-0.18.1-r1 (my first mythtv install) on a x86
Gentoo system following the guidelines in the Gentoo wikis
(http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_MythTV and
http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_PVR_500_Setup). I used 'emerge' to
install the package and watched it compile everything without errors.
It's in an older AMD XP 1600+ machine with one Hauppage PVR-500 and
512MB RAM. The machine is intended to be a dedicated backend server.

During the howto it mentions using ptune.pl to change channels and
record video using 'cat'. I did this successfully before installing
MythTV. I was able to do it with both tuners and got both video and
audio.

MythTV and ivtv (0.4.0-r3) then install without errors. I run
'mythbackend' and then 'mythfilldatabase' and then run 'mythsetup'
and set it up as best I can. Everything appears to be running fine.
I look through the show schedule and find a show that is going to be
starting soon and set it to schedule for one time only. I wait for
that time to come around and then hear the hard drive start crunching
so I know it's started recording. However, when I go to watch the
show I see that it recorded an hours worth, but on the wrong channel.
Instead of changing to the channel the show was on, it stayed on
channel 3 and recorded it for an hour.

I've gone through 'mythsetup' and found a section where you associate
zap2it to /dev/v4l/videoN and I have it set to do that on both video0
and video1.

Has anyone else ever had this problem? If so, what did you do to
correct it? I can provide the output of 'dmesg' if that would help or
the output of any other command.

Thank you.
