Thanks for all the info, I tested the lcdd with curses and it was great.
Made my lcd screen today. Well backlight is not working yet, but
gonne buy some parts tomorrow. I have nice 20x2 display.

One thing.. Is there any way to make the clock to show up in the first row
and not the second ?... really a minor thing, but I would prefer the
upper row .
