[mythtv-users] LiveTV, FC4, kernel-smp-2.6.15-1.1830_FC4

  I had the same problem with the firmware not loading using the kernel-smp-2.6.15-1.1830_FC4 kernel.  I read on a previous post to use smart instead of yum.  Everything seems to be working fine as of last night.  This was a brand new box and I did the entire install using smart following your guide.  It was not an upgrade.

Odd. Ran into something similar, but not the same tonight. Just  
booted off the 1830 kernel myself, and ivtv wouldn't ever load the  
firmware file, so at least you're getting further than I am. :) Back  
to 1656, everything works fine. Haven't had time to dig into it  
myself either -- maybe this weekend, along with migrating my master  
backend to a new box w/my beast 3ware 9500s-driven storage array... :)
