This has nothing to do with the sound card, so it doesn't really matter
here.

Also, I was asked for my brand name (it is integrated). /sbin/lspci tells

You haven't listed anything related to how to configure your sound card.

Did you try the .asoundrc I've linked on my web page?
also paste here the result of:
aplay -l

It should be something like:
[mythtv at htpc ~]$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 0: ICH6 [Intel ICH6], device 0: Intel ICH [Intel ICH6]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: ICH6 [Intel ICH6], device 4: Intel ICH - IEC958 [Intel ICH6 -
IEC958]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

IEC958 is the digital output, so in my case I need to use Card0 device 4.

Please follow the steps I have listed on the page
http://www.hydrix.com/mythtv, especially about how to modify the listed
.asoundrc for your machine.
unless you do I can't help you.

In mythtv configuration, all I put for the sound device was:
ALSA:spdif

Cause all I have are DVB-T card so the inputs is in AC3 already, don't need
to go through the sound mixer.
