[mythtv-users] MythTV strange problem

I execute the following statement on the command line

ivtvctrl -c aspect=3

I open /dev/video0 with mplayer, the aspect is correct. I go out, and
open with mplayer again, still correct.

I open mythfrontend, the aspect is incorrect. I execute the ivtvctl
statement again, I have to change channels in myth to get it to take
effect. I go out of mythfrontend, then back in, the aspect is again
incorrect. 

WHY and how can I fix it?
