Sounds like you have set up your capture card as a "v4l" type. You  
need to set it up as a "MPEG-2" type, the description of the card  
will mention the PVR-250/350 I believe. After positioning the cursor  
on the card type with the up and down arrows, use the right and left  
arrows to select the card type. It's a little tricky to know where  
you are in the screen sometimes, but you can figure it out.

With the number keys on the keyboard, followed by CR (unless you have  
instant channel change enabled). You can also use a remote-control if  
you have set that up.
