[mythtv-users] Plextor ConvertX Mpeg-2?

Hello,

I bought a ConvertX recently because I wanted to try out
Mpeg-4 compression. I've decided that I don't like Mpeg-4 very
much. The compression is decent (700MB/hr vs 2.1Gb/hr in mpeg-2),
but the quality is noticeably worse. Pixelation and screen
artifacts are common. It's not as polished as Mpeg-2. And burning
Mpeg-4 to DVD via MythBurn isn't possible currently, so the
cons outweigh the pros.

Anyway, the redeeming quality of the ConvertX is that it's
USB, which is a definite benefit as I'm out of PCI slots at
the moment. So I'm thinking about keeping it around in case
I ever have a need for multiple tuners.

But I still don't like mpeg-4. I know the ConvertX is capable
of recording mpeg-2, but I can't figure out how to make MythTV
0.18.1 request that format from the ConvertX. It doesn't seem
to be an option in the Plextor Mpeg-4 recording profile.

Am I missing something? Is there a way to do this in 0.18.1?
Alternatively, is this a new option in 0.19? Or am I out of
luck?

Thanks!
