I tried
fuser /dev/dsp
and got no results.  I then launched mythtv-setup and I changed the 
/dev/dsp to /dev/adsp and got funcionality for changing the channel.  I 
am not sure if recording works.  I am setting up a test run and should 
have results within a couple of hours.
