If my capture card is operating properly, would: cat /dev/video > test.mpg produce a valid MPEG file? The capture card I'm using is a Hauppauge WinTV Go Plus. The reason I'm asking is that the file that is produced does not seem to be valid. Would this, therefore, be a symptom of a larger problem? Thanks, Dave
