[mythtv-users] What's better? 2.4 GHz P4 mobo or Dual 1.1 GHz PIII mobo?

I have been running a dual PIII 1.1GHz for over a year now. It has a
PVR350, a PVR150 and a pcHDTV-5500 in it. I have 2 250GB drives connected
via PATA-133 on an SiS IDE card running software raid 0. I have had all 3
cards recording something and was watching a previously recorded show on
this system. I'm sure it was comm flagging while recording. Up until a few
months ago, it was my only Myth backend so it had to do everything. I've
moved the comm flagging off to a slave backend now because about once every
month or so, the machine would either lock up or fall off the network. Very
annoying. I think it has something to do with the motherboard though, not
Myth. I need to upgrade it to the latest kernel also - its running 2.6.16
with some hacked up modules to get IVTV and pcHDTV to coexist "happily" and
by happily, I mean just barely.

Even though the dual PIII has been doing fine, I think I'm going to switch
to a 3GHz P4. I think it will benefit from getting things done quicker
rather than getting multiple things done slower but at the same time.
Besides, IIRC, dual PIII motherboards have to split the memory bandwidth
between the processors so it creates somewhat of a bottleneck that the P4
won't have.
