This is an interesting discussion.  I would also like this feature.  But
there is a related feature I would also like.  Let's say a show is only on
in HD.  I'd like to be able to record the show and then transcode it down to
something that can be played back on MediaMVP or XBMC hardware while keeping
the original HD version.  I seem to recall a setting in transcode that said
something like keep original but I got the impression that was for backup
purposes only (in case the transcode failed).
