Hello I am a newbie & thought Id give Ubuntu a go & try to install
Mythtv on it too.

I am using the following spec:

512mb ram
Athlon XP 3000+
Hauppage pvr350
Onboard AC97 sound.
GEFORCE FX 5200
Ethernet (on board)

I am using the instructions as per :

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MythTV

and got to the bit re installing my ivtv drivers etc. Here starts a
problem.

My lspci reading states the card is recognised but the dmesg reads like
there is a problem.
Body of output:

Does anyone have any ideas. I have tried doing the test record as per :

cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/test_capture.mpg

Let this go for about 5 sec and then press <ctrl> + 'c'

mplayer /tmp/test_capture.mpg

see if there is any TV in the captured mpg.

but no joy.
Huge thanx in advance!!

Kevin
