Thanks, this worked for me, but the title of the show is garbage.
I see ffmeg has a -title switch, but mencoder does not.
Did you create a THM with it which holds a jpg image of the show?

I tried using ffmpeg that comes with Ubuntu 6.10 but it says -singlejpeg is
not supported.

I am using firmware 2.50.
I found a few documents indicating I have to follow this naming convention:
M4V00000.mp4

Once I did that (replace the zeros with numbers) the video shows up and
plays.
But I had to put this in:
/MP_ROOT/100MNV01

Putting them anywhere else resulted in the PSP not finding them.
