More on converting mythtv for WA daylight savings time, *if* you are using
the grabber for tvguide.org.au
First, go to your /home/mythtv/.mythtv directory and make a backup of your
tvguide.org.au.xmltv file
cp tvguide.org.au.xmltv tvguide.org.au.xmltv_2006dec08
(you will need it, because fiddling with the channels resets the config
file to default settings... sometimes).
As root (sudo -sh) stop mythbackend from running, on ubuntu this is
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop
Run mythtv-setup, go to General- then to Global Backend Setup, where you
should see "Time offset for XMLTV listings", which I previously had set to
+0800 (Perth non-daylight savings timezone). Change this to +0900
In your tvguide.org.au.xmltv file, check that your ABC2 timezone setting
is -0200. The other channeltz settings should be +0000, or should not be
there (one per channel line).
Restart the mythtv backend
/etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start
As mythtv user, run
mythfilldatabase --graboptions "-v -v -v"
There, you are done! When the timezone changes back you'll have to do it
again to change mythtv back to +0800 and your grabber setup for ABC2 to
-0300. There may be a better way to do it.... but this works OK
