Eventhough I got much more modest hardware, I also have
exported XFS with Samba (cifs) in order to get some performace at all.
4 machines are involved, 3 linux (Gentoo and Ubuntu) and a mac (ppc),
and they all mount the cifs
as read-only. The mac mounts one NFS fileshare as read-write, and the
performace difference on that contra cifs is great, to the cifs'
advantage.
