Made the switch about a month ago.  IMHO ...

MythTV is much better at:
- Powerful and flexible control over what does, and what does not, get
recorded
- Full function web interface
- DVD/movie delivery as part of the media center system
- Integrated whole house / multiple TV system
- No monthly fees

Tivo was better at:
- Ease of installation
- Watching live TV (there's a religious war that flares up here between
those who think live TV is an important feature and those who don't, but
I'd say that everybody at least agrees that watching live TV isn't
MythTV's forte.)
