Last night, I noticed that an hour-long over-the-air recording from
the local PBS affiliate's HD channel came in a few minutes
short. Here's what the log says:
2006-12-04 20:59:02.051 Started recording: JFK: Breaking the News:
channel 2091 on cardid 3, sourceid 2

[The "Program #0" portion now again repeats many, many more times,
until about 9:04pm, when the messages go away.]
As mentioned, my recording was about five minutes short. I've been
using ATSC OTA for months and have seen my share of flaky signals
causing problems with recordings, but they have always recordings to
come in short because portions of the transmissioncome in garbled. In
this case, the recording played back with no garbling whatsoever, but
just truncated; it's as if the backend decided to simply start the
recording a few minutes late.
