[mythtv-users] Blue Screen on Radeon 7500 at 1080i.

I'm trying to run mythtv 0.20 on a Dell Latitude C640. It has a 2GHZ
Pentium 4 with a Radeon 7500 Mobility.

Mythfrontend handles 720P ok, but I get a blue screen (with sound) for
1080i. I see some corresponding X server errors at 1080i (insufficient
resources for operation).

Vlc, Xine, and Mplayer can all handle the same 1080i mpegs that Myth is
bailing out on using the XV support in the Xorg Radeon driver. (I did
need a patch to the driver to handle it. Without the patch the image is
clipped by a pink bar at 1080i, but even here no "resource problem").

So myth must be using a different strategy than the other media players.

I had a similar "insufficient resource" problem on a different laptop
using an Intel 915. But in that case all the media players and myth got
the same error, and all were fixed by increasing an intel specific
parameter for the driver.

The odd thing here is that its only myth will the problem with the Radeon.

Any ideas?
