[mythtv-users] Expensive de-interlacing while transcoding?

I've followed a few threads that mentioned this but none appeared to
have a working config.
Is it possible to perform expensive/high-quality de-interlacing while
transcoding to avoid using the quick realtime de-interlacing
algorithms in mythfrontend? Or maybe even just de-interlacing w/o size
or format conversion while transcoding?
Of course, the FE would still de-int LiveTV and non-transcoded
material but would notice that transcoded material was already
de-interlaced and just render it as progressive...
I'm using 0.19-fixes.
Regards,
Wilf.
