[mythtv-users] Is it worth upgrading AMD sempron 3000+ to sempron 3400+

	My Athlon64 3500 runs at about 3:1. It takes 3 times as long
as the runlength of a video in order to convert it from mpeg2 (DVD)
to H.264.

	When running mencoder with the nice option, I have my
backend has no problem serving up media files for the frontend
eventhough it is running at 100% cpu.

	BTW, if that transcoding is slower than it should be I 
would love some pointers on how to get it running faster.

	I run Ubuntu64.
