That's unfortunately not true for germany: not only do HDTV channels use
the h.264 video codec, they're also using a new encoding system for the
sattellite signal itself, called DVB-S2. It's not possible to receive
the HDTV signals using current DVB-S receivers (or cards), you actually
do need completely new hardware; the technotrend is one of the first
cards available to actually support the DVB-S2.
