Too true!  The assumption of a single LAN was probably to be expected.
 After all, (in the UK at least), dynamic IPs are typical of dial-up
and ADSL providers.  Whilst download speed is improving, the upload
speed of such connections is still woefully inadequate for streaming
full screen TV video.
