Normally I use ALSA:spdif but I tried ALSA:default with the same
results. If I play it with mplayer it reports that the audio is
Opening audio decoder: [liba52] AC3 decoding with liba52
Using SSE optimized IMDCT transform
AC3: 2.0 (stereo) 48000 Hz 384.0 kbit/s
Using MMX optimized resampler
AUDIO: 48000 Hz, 2 ch, s16le, 384.0 kbit/25.00% (ratio: 48000->192000)
Selected audio codec: [a52] afm:liba52 (AC3-liba52)
I don't have any .asoundrc (never needed it). The system I'm working on
now is the Unichrome Pro system using the internal snd_via82xx driver.
I have a Turtle Beach riviera I could throw in there if I need to but
the results have been the same no matter what I've tried
