[mythtv-users] Possible to use Dell Remote Control with lirc or otherwise?

Update: As of today, I've got most of what I want.
The special buttons- like play/pause/channel/volume are detected
correctly from my /etc/lircd.conf, and mythtv maps them in my
~/.mythtv/lircrc . Lirc of course was built -with-driver=devinput .

I just after writing this, the reason for the problem below is that
regular keypresses are sent to /dev/input/event2 and the rest are
/dev/input/event3. My question is now a simple one. How can I either
mutiplex these into a single device, or get lirc to read two devices
at once. (Two instances of lirc is a no go, since myth will only
attach to one. Also not working is "cat /dev/input/event2
>/dev/input/event3".)

Here is the problem I had originally described:
The only remaining problem is that for keys which were correctly
interpreted before- such as 1,2,3,.. Left,Right,Up, Down ..etc .
That is- those keys which are present on a standard keyboard- are not
detected with irw, and thus, are only sent to mythtv when mythtv has
keyboard focus.

I have the mappings in lircd.conf, but it seems like lirc is only
consulted when the key is not one of the standard PC101 keyboard
variety. Do I need to do something special to have ALL keys go through
lirc, not just those ones which are not found on a standard keyboard.

If anyone could help me on this point, I would appreciate it.
