I'm just thinking in terms of capturing the mpeg stream and ripping it
to a computer, never to actually be played back on the TiVo... I had a
series 1 stand alone that I hacked and did a lot of captures/backup
with it. If a series-1 DirecTivo can record a DirecTV HD stream and
allow me to copy the recording, I'd definitely be interested in such a
thing...
