(Thinking I must be way off base if Isaac is questioning me...)
Guess I'm wrong. I was basing my information on:
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/191814#191814
and
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/188312#188312
and
http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/users/184357#184357
which all claimed that you have to use the ivtvdev X driver (not the
hardware decoder) to get Myth to display the captions on PVR-350 output.
I just figured it was a "not yet implemented" thing (since, until
recently PVR-x50 captions weren't supported in Myth, I figured no one
had gotten around to implementing it for VideoOutputIvtv).
So, it seems the truth is that Daniel couldn't figure out how to make it
work and decided it doesn't work. He convinced Brad it doesn't work.
Then, Brad told Dan. Now the question is whether Dan believed Brad.
:) If so, I don't blame Dan--Daniel and Brad had me convinced.
