[mythtv-users] Problem with sound card detection

I've had a lingering problem with soundcard detection that's recently 
become an unsolvable problem.  I have an IBM NetVista with 
onboard sound (intel8x0) and it apparently is recognized 
correctly, but no sound comes out.  On reboot, I used to 
go to "Sound card detection" and I'd be back in business.
I just upgraded to fc3_1381 and this option is no longer 
available?  Or, I guess I should be asking how can I fix 
this?  I've gone through the sound howto and no errors 
show up in dmesg or any other files.
