[mythtv-users] ivtv-0.4.0 autodetection

I know that the new ivtv autodetects but are you supposed to have anything in modprobe.conf
at all? For example

alias char-major-81-0 ivtv
alias char-major-81-1 ivtv
etc.....

Or does ivtv insert this for you? And what about the Avermedia M179, is this autodetected as well?
