[mythtv-users] Best audio crard for AC3/DTS over SPIDF

I currently have a Shuttle w/ A7N8X-Delux (nforce2) mboard and a direct 
coax digital connection over spidf to my receiver (Sony STR-DE995).  PCM 
2 channel works great.  However, I am unable to use AC3 or DTS 
passthrough in myth, xine, or mplayer.  When I try, I get a "Decode 
Error" on my receiver and no audio.  I have done quite a bit of poking 
around, and the more I read, this seems like an issue w/ alsa driver for 
this chipset.  Rumour has it that the nvidia OSS driver allows for 
passthrough over spidf, but from what I am reading, sounds fairly buggy, 
and the thought of going back to OSS does not sound like what I want.

So, I am now thinking about buying a new sound card and am looking for 
the best supported (under Alsa) which will get me coax spidf supporting 
PCM, and AC3/DTS passthrough.

Or, any pointers in getting my setup working w/ nforce2 and passthrough?
