So, I've now tried rm-ing my /etc/X11/XvMCConfig, commenting out the ref
to "dri" in my /etc/X11/xorg.conf, rebooting, disabling XvMC in the
setup menu and playing back a recording, but mythfrontend still insists
on trying to use XvMC and fails to play completely :-(

Does anyone know what is happening and how I can get myth to run without
XvMC support, just to see if this sound issue is related to XvMC or not ?

Cheers,

Jules
